چکیده

Abstract Background Little was know about the association between CHA2DS2-VASc score and postoperative outcomes. Our purpose is to evaluate effects of on perioperative outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods We identified 47,402 AF over age 20 years who underwent noncardiac surgeries 2008 2013 from claims data National Health Insurance Taiwan. The used complications, mortality consumption medical resources by calculating adjusted odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results Compared a 0, scores ≥ 5 had an increased risk septicemia (OR 2.76, CI 2.00–3.80), intensive care 2.55, 2.12–3.06), 2.04, 1.14–3.64). There significant positive correlation complication (P < 0.0001). Conclusion highly associated septicemia, care, 30-day among patients. Cardiologists surgical teams may consider using outcome risks AF.

Adverse Outcomes After Noncardiac Surgery in PatientsWith Diabetes A nationwide population-based retrospective cohort study

RESULTSdDiabetes increased 30-day postoperative mortality (odds ratio 1.84 [95%CI 1.46– 2.32]), particularly among patients with type 1 diabetes or uncontrolled diabetes and patients with preoperative diabetes-related comorbidities, such as eye involvement, peripheral circulatory disorders, ketoacidosis, renal manifestations, and coma. Compared with nondiabetic control patients, coexisting medi...

Hyperchloremia after noncardiac surgery is independently associated with increased morbidity and mortality: a propensity-matched cohort study.

BACKGROUND The use of normal saline is associated with hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis. In this study, we sought to determine the incidence of acute postoperative hyperchloremia (serum chloride >110 mEq/L) and whether this electrolyte disturbance is associated with an increase in length of hospital stay, morbidity, or 30-day postoperative mortality. METHODS Data were retrospectively collect...

The CHA2DS2‐VASc score as a predictor of high mortality in hospitalized heart failure patients

AIMS Atrial fibrillation (AF) is common in patients with heart failure (HF). CHA2 DS2 -VASc score was originally employed as a risk assessment tool for stroke in patients with AF; however, it has recently been used to predict not only stroke but also various cardiovascular diseases beyond the original AF field. We aimed to verify the CHA2 DS2 -VASc score as a risk assessment tool to predict mor...

The value of the CHA2DS2-VASc score for refining stroke risk stratification in patients with atrial fibrillation with a CHADS2 score 0-1: a nationwide cohort study.

North American and European guidelines on atrial fibrillation (AF) are conflicting regarding the classification of patients at low/intermediate risk of stroke. We aimed to investigate if the CHA2DS2-VASc score improved risk stratification of AF patients with a CHADS2 score of 0-1. Using individual-level-linkage of nationwide Danish registries 1997-2008, we identified patients discharged with AF...
